Spinning Classes – New at Tilsley Park

Discounted prices for our members and brand new Premium memberships available…

We are holding an official launch day on Sunday 23 September 2018 (10am-3pm) to introduce our exciting range of spinning classes to the community, which will be a new addition to our exercise class timetable this autumn. We will be using M3i Keiser spin bikes to give you a high quality cycling experience, with this unique and superior set up rivalling any of our competitors in the area.

Classes will be held at Tilsley Park (along with our weekly Boot Camp).

Launch day programme:

Come along to our launch day and take advantage of all of the free activities! We have taster sessions for you to try out our Boot Camp, Zorb football experience and our new state of the art spin bikes. You may have already received a leaflet through your door, but if not, you can download the full information and launch day programme here.

Official start date for regular spin class programme:

Classes start from Monday 24 September. Please call 01235 524 524 to book your place on spinning.

The sessions are designed for all abilities, including beginners, and you’ll reap the benefits of cycling miles without having to leave Tilsley’s transformed ‘Energy Lounge’.

Spinning is a very effective way to build a leaner body; it’s great for shedding calories, toning your legs, glutes and core, and improving fitness and stamina while having low-impact on your knees and ankles.

If you’re a newbie to spinning and are concerned you won’t keep up with the pace, don’t worry. Each class is as hard as you make it – if you can’t match the speed or intensity of the class, you can work at a level that you feel comfortable with. There’s no pressure! That said, the strong sense of team spirit and motivating instructors make for a positive and motivating session that will have you pushing yourself to your limits from start to finish.

And, it’s not just the body that benefits from spinning classes either. The release of feel-good endorphins as you pedal along to the music will bust any stress and leave you feeling totally uplifted.

Spinning class prices:

Unless you have taken out our new *premium membership, our non-member price will be £7.00 per session and a discount of only £3.50 for standard Abingdon Sports and Leisure Club Members/Tilsley Park Track Members.

Become a Premium member:

New Exercise Classes and Instructors for Autumn

New Exercise Classes and Instructors for Autumn

We have been busy recruiting and evolving the Abingdon Sports and Leisure Club membership package over the last few months and we are pleased to update you on some positive changes and additions to your membership…

Although we were very sorry to see Lauren Barrett, our popular Hatha Flow Yoga instructor leave us in July, we are delighted to announce that we have appointed Liv Wilken as a replacement for this Thursday evening class going forward. Liv teaches Piyo, which is a combination of Pilates and Yoga.

Piyo is a workout that combines the muscle-sculpting and core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility of Yoga. These movements speed up to deliver a true fat-burning workout. It is low impact and therefore kind on your joints. Try it and see! This class will be available on the timetable from September, every Thursday evening, 7.45pm-8.45pm.

We are also delighted to welcome Jacqueline Rice as our replacement Hatha Flow Yoga instructor for both Tuesday night classes.

Another fantastic instructor we are sorry to see leave us after developing such popular classes is Livi Madai, but we have appointed Liv Wilkens as a replacement, who is also a Level 3 Personal Trainer. Liv will be your new instructor for our Monday night Functional Circuits class, 7.15pm-8.15pm.

Britteny Thorpe, one of our new Duty Manager’s, who is a Level 3 Personal Trainer, has now taken over Livi’s Wednesday night Body Weight HIIT class, 7.30pm-8.15pm.

We hope you will be as pleased with our new instructors as we are and we look forward to hearing your customer feedback.

For further information or if you have any queries, please contact the Sports Centre reception team on 01235 849062 or email ase.info@abingdon.org.uk. You can click here for the exercise class timetable.
