Exercise Classes

Abingdon Sports and Leisure offers a wide variety of fitness classes for all abilities. From circuit classes to high intensity interval training (HIIT), there is something to suit everyone.

We’ve got morning sessions for those early risers, as well as convenient evening sessions for after work hours.

Classes are open to everyone, whether you’re an Abingdon Sports and Leisure Club member or a Pay As You Go customer. All fitness equipment is provided, so all you have to do is sign up, turn up and take part!

Tilsley Park Boot Camps also available every Friday 18:30 – 19.15. FREE for Abingdon Sports and Leisure Club members.

Monday

  • ZUMBA

    -

    Zumba ensures a total body workout in a fun and interactive manner. The aim of the class is to feel better when you walk out than when you walked in! Fresh music with infectious beats. Calorie burning, toning and conditioning. Choreographed moves for all abilities.

  • FUNCTIONAL CIRCUITS

    -

    A functional circuit is a workout primarily evolving around a wide variety of functional and body weight exercises. This workout is aimed to improve anaerobic capacity, strength and body composition (Muscle-toning and fat-burning).

Tuesday

  • LEGS, BUMS AND TUMS

    -

    Attack those stubborn areas with this easy to follow classic aerobics class. A traditional favourite, to work your legs, bum and tum!

  • HATHA FLOW YOGA

    -

    Yoga poses are taught in a mindful, flowing sequence to strengthen the body and calm the mind. We will bring awareness to our mind, body and breath, whilst challenging co-ordination and balance through movement. These classes will improve flexibility, core strength, balance and concentration.

Wednesday

  • MORNING CIRCUITS

    -

    An early morning 45-minute full-body training session to invigorate and energise for the day ahead. This session incorporates a wide range of body weight and equipment based exercises to keep training current, functional and fun! A station based class allowing individuals to work at their own ability and where exercises/ intensity can be adapted to suits all levels.

  • BODY WEIGHT HIIT

    -

    The HIIT workout, also known as high intensity interval training is a workout that is widely recognised as the ultimate fat burning workout. Through a wide range of body weight exercises, the client will be asked to perform exercises under a short work and recovery time. Also known as interval training, the HIIT workout focuses primarily on anaerobic endurance, coordination and agility.

Thursday

  • DANCE AEROBICS

    -

    Dance Aerobics class combines rhythmic steps of aerobics with dance movements.

  • HATHA FLOW YOGA

    -

    In this class you will mindfully flow through a sequence of poses designed to strengthen and stretch the body as well as calm the mind. Some poses will be held for sustained periods of time to promote deep stretching and relaxation. These classes will improve flexibility, core strength, balance and concentration.

Friday

  • MORNING HIIT CLASS

    -

    An explosive 30-minute early morning High Intensity Interval Training session to get your metabolism racing for the rest of the day! A body weight plyometric class involving multiple short bursts of activity followed by a short rest period. Performed as a group to create an electric atmosphere and encourage staying power.

  • CIRCUITS

    -

    A mix of aerobic and low resistance body conditioning exercises to get you moving. Work at a pace suited to your ability or give yourself that extra push to work outside your comfort zone. The choice is yours!

    Expert personal trainers leading exceptional Boot Camps to ensure fun and varied sessions. Based in the grounds of Tilsley Park.

Prices

  • 30-minute intense classes – £4.00 per session

  • 45-minute classes – £5.50 per session

  • 1-hour classes – £6.50 per session
